Hello, sweet friends! Hope you are having a wonderful week so far and enjoying warmer weather. Well, here's another experiment for me. It's my second watercolor card I'm posting, and I used the newest remixed digital image by Marcella Hawley. It's a lovely set that includes a beautiful wreath of peonies, but I chose to use the single "accent" image and enlarged it in Microsoft Word. I printed it on watercolor paper, gently rubbed the entire image with a Magic Rub eraser, and then I used Distress Inks with an aqua brush to color. I kept remembering Sallie's words of "keep some white in the image," and I tried - wink! I accidentally used one of my aqua brushes that I has Copic Blending Solution in it - oops! SO I did struggle a bit with some of the color-wash around the lower part of the card. But I added some sequins, matted it, and it was done. And so you can watercolor with digital images without doing anything other than printing them in Microsoft Word. However, I suggest you try on your own printer. I have an HP Photosmart 7510 inkjet printer, and it was fine.
So, sweet friends, thanks for taking a closer look at my card, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and a Happy Mother's Day (I will remember the many joys my mom had each spring planting new flowers - miss her lots!).

Your watercoloring came out beautifully. Your experiment was a wonderful success. Gorgeous colors and I love the way the sequins give it just the right amount of bling.

What a thing of beauty..your card is amazing and I have to compliment you on your watercoloring...the white space add such gorgeous highlights. And I love the pale blue surrounding your peony. Thanks for sharing your process and the memories of your mom (I checked out your blog)...I sure miss my mom, too.

Beautifully water coloured image of peonies. I must remember your hint about keeping some "white" on the images when colouring. Love the addition of the sequins for sparkle too.

Cheryl, you are as talented with watercolor as you are with copics! Beautifully done! AND you left white space. I remember her posting that and have such a hard time with that one. I have not seen anyone successfully watercolor over printer ink. Thanks for the tip about Magic Rub. I'm off to see what that is. Your card is just GORGEOUS!

I have to agree with Nancy. You are much more talented than you think you are, my sweet friend. This is one gorgeous card where you've highlighted that image beautifully with your watercoloring. Now go back and reframe your words on your blog to reflect 'master' watercolorist. Hugs and love, Anne.

A beautiful peony, Cheryl, and you are the one that makes it so beautiful with your coloring. Wonderful background and sentiment, also.
Happy Mother's Day to you. We'll both miss our mothers this Sunday.
