I had no idea if my idea would work, but I am happy with the way it turned out. Thank you Audrie for another awesome site. I choose this Steampunk Egg for my inspiration.
I gathered up a few supplies and added them to a Styrofoam gourd. It looks like a pear. I sawed the gourd in half to make it look like it can be opened. I thought it was hollow inside, but found it was a solid Styrofoam piece. I added hinges to the back and a latch on the front. I covered it in foil tape and did a black paint wash over it.

I missed this last week. Irene, you are so creative. I love how you sawed the gourd in half and added a hinge. You are great with steampunk.
