This is for Lisa's super fun Ways to Use It challenge - "Give us a laugh". It will come as no surprise that this is yet another crazy bird card. Here we have Claudette, great-aunt of Odette and Bernadette - you can see where the girls got their fine dress sense from!!
The background is from the left over background that Odette and Bernie appeared on a couple of weeks ago. The usual smack & squirt technique using distress inks and lots of water were used. The stenciling was done with diluted Dylusions paint.
Claudette was stamped in my MISTI with Versafine ink; I left the rubber stamp in place while I removed the image and painted her with Distress inks and an aqua pen. Before fussy cutting, I put her back into MISTI and restamped to sharpen up all the edges. I have run out of the Stampotique boots, so these are a knock off boots, actually each boot and leg are one piece. On a piece of cardstock I drew the boots and legs, fussy cut then glued into place. I dislocated one leg to bend it back. The lace skirt is from a beautiful assortment of lace sent to me by JodyLynn.
Lots of liquid pearls, a little floral stamp and a doodled border were added before adhering the panel to a kraft card base. I had a heap of fun making this, thank you for looking.

Oh, she is very fashionable. Love her hat and dress. Those berries make a wonderful scene. I'm surprised Claudette didn't clear
those out..you know birds love berries. Then again, your birds seem human. Love this fun and very creative card.

This is great Susie. Funny about that - my best friends are called Jeannette and Claudette - he he. Waiting to see Jeannette appear in the next creation. I love all the little pink blossoms and of course the wonderful background. I need to get that sentiment for Jeannette and Claudette too - they would love I it.

Oh My GOSH! Love, LOVE, LOVE this Susie! Along with the pure stoke of genius of another cute as can be long legged creation... your doodles are eye catching and oh so fun! I will be casing them too (smile) I love to doodle on everything!
I think I am to lazy to do the smack and squirt technique. I really love the look though.. Might try it one day. I did go way back in your gallery to find your description on how you did it.
The sentiment is so perfect!
Thanks for the smile today! always wait and watch for every new LLB (long legged bird) to pop into the gallery.
Hope your having a great week!!!

What a great sentiment - perfect for an older sister! So funny, Susie. The pink 'pearls' are a great addition - especially on her hat - she does look fabulous!

Well now, this old bird looks pretty good. You made her look very fancy.
I love the lace and liquid pearls. I'm sorry she has to wear a knock off boot but I'm sure she will be fine. I like the way you made her image sharp by restamping. The Misti is an incredible little invention, isn't it?

I'm only catching up on comments now, I ended up needing another early bed last night, sigh.... Susie, this is FANTASTIC, straight into my favourites. I love everything, the bird, the sentiment, but maybe most of all the beautiful Spring background.

Not sure how I missed this STYLIN' CRAZY BIRD, but she sure knows how to catch your eye!! Love how you did her boots, and from the look of the "popped" foot, she may just have received her first REAL KISS (see the movie, Princess Diaries, for the explanation of the popped foot!) Simply LOVE that sentiment - going to have to look for that one!!
