Well, once again, I've been MIA, and last week was a tough one. I started a new medication that really threw me (but I've stopped it for now). So we all push on, right? This weekend I managed to color up the newest Instant Garden digi that is available today, and I even got to use some designer paper (yes, we often don't use much anymore, do we?). But it seemed to fit this image that was inspired by folk art and crewel embroidery. So I used the DP as my color palette and started to color. The hardest part was measuring up all the pieces and the matting, and it ended up being an odd card size. But I will make a special envelope for this one. It does remind me of some of my mom's cross-stitch work and a couple of things I embroidered years ago. I think she would have liked it.
Thanks for taking a closer look, and I hope you have a great week! Stop by my blog for more details. Hugs!

This is wonderful Cheryl - very folk art in the colours and also the perfect matching design papers. I just love that sentiment - fits me down to the ground. Its just so nice to see flowers of all colours in the garden - and this is a great inspiration. Take care of yourself and hopefully you will start to feel better soon - enough is enough of feeling all that pain.

An elegant card and the colours are perfect. Have some Norman Rockwell cross stitch pieces from when I used to cross stitch. Your card has inspired me to make a flower basket card, thank you Cheryl. I also love the paper piercing that you do around your cards.

This is an Amazing card!!! You really nailed it with the coloring! Beautiful job! And your 2 dps are the Perfect choice. They really enhance the already Gorgeous digi. And the piercing...WOW! You must be the woman who goes in at night to all the vendors factories and pokes the holes in all their pierced frame dies. Always wondered who did that. I think I'd probably be cross-eyed and crazy as a loon after putting all those holes around that oval. You REALLY did that???!!
I hope your meds are in better working order now. Will continue praying for you.
How pretty! The paper choice is perfect! And I, too, have noticed how little patterned paper is used, but I still like to use it, but maybe on half my cards instead of most of them?
