so thanks for taking a look at the bigger canvas. Can't you almost feel the water swirling around her?
I used three shades of DI inks to cover the base of the paper. After it was dry, i sprinkled Brushos on the page and misted with water. Like many others have said, 'that's where the magic happens. Such depth and color...amazing. Once the base was dry, I stamped the rising bubbles image (Designs by Ryn) with Perfect Pearls Silver at random on the paper. Hit it with my heat tool. Then used glossy accents to give the bubbles some dimension. The edges of the piece were stamped with various shells for depth.
I used Donna Downeys' sentiment "you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have".
If you notice, my mermaid has a bubble wand in her hand...I thought well, you know as beautiful and gorgeous as she is, there is also a sense of cheeky humor meant to brighten others days. Why wouldn't a mermaid blow bubbles, I ask?
This card is going to a young women who once told me, 'I'd wear my hair blue' if there weren't rules (at work) that I can't'. She is bravely battling cancer now, and I thought she needed a small mermaid and a blue crayon.
Thanks for much for bearing with me. And your comments, I would so love to hear what you see in my mermaid tale...

This piece is really amazing Susan! With your creativity and imagination I would not think you'd need classes at all! Love the beads of water! They look so real. The shells in the water the jointed arms- everything is just a feast for the eyes!
