I made this for Lisa's great WTUI challenge - find out all about it here: WT568 Anything Plaid.
For starters, I used some alcohol inks and a technique Tim Holtz showed using them to make plaid - the link to his blog post is HERE. I cut one sheet into trees with some under-used dies, and layered them up.
Base is just sponged with chipped sapphire and has white acrylic paint dotted on with a stylus.
For the main panel, I stamped the market stand, the floral accessories and Flora - and DH thought I had made a hot mess, even though he could see that I had stamped Flora and the little trees in pots and coloured them separately. After colouring, I masked the stand off and sponged in the sky and some snow lines. Then I spritzed the sky with water. Added paint to the snowy roof of the stand, and then cuat out and added Flora and the little trees. After adding it to the base, I stuck on the trees, doodled a border and then went hunting for a sentiment - it's an old one from Penny Black, which I just stamped and sponged, then cut out and popped the centre up on foam for extra dimension. To finish, I decided to doodle borders on the trees to match the one on the image panel. And at the end, DH was very impressed with how well it had all come together .
