Congratulations to Caryn, this week's Featured Stamper. I chose her No one stacks up to you card. The sweet little stack of teacups and the gingham DP across the middle inspired my card. I ended up with a different layout (thanks to the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge) - hope that's okay.
I have long wanted to color up this cute little budgie (aka parakeet) atop the teacups (or coffee cups, if you so desire). The DP was my color pallet for the image, and it took longer to figure out the layers with their mats than coloring it. I punched two holes in the focal image to thread and tie the bow with a blue button to compliment the blue cup. Finally, I tucked a hand-made fishtail tag.
Thanks for taking a closer look - I hope you like it. It was fun to do, even though I didn't get to finish it until late Sunday night - and only posting it today. Visit my blog for more details (including the Copic markers I used). Have a great week!

So cheerful, Cheryl! This color palette is beautiful. I love Budgies and have been eyeing this stamp closely as a possible purchase. You may have convinced me.

I have returned to your gallery once again for inspiration. I just cannot get over the beauty and creativity of each and every card. This gem caught my eye immediately. Masterful coloring and color coordination with your dp. Love the many details and texture. I'll be back!!
Oh I do like the colors you picked for this stamp. I have colored it a couple times but I always make my cups colorful and the budgie brown, which is not realistic, but I needed to look up what colors a budgie actually is! I do like the muted colors in your cups and patterned paper, very fun!
