This is my card for the teapot party this week. We are sending cards to Dave, husband of our own Julie Gearinger. Dave has been maintaining a 70-80 hour work week while going through chemo, and could use some cheering up. Our challenge was to bring eagles, so I thought Dave might enjoy this photograph taken by my BIL when my husband and I joined him and my SIL on an Alaskan cruise. The layout is based on last week's sketch, flipped on its end.
I die cut the background layer, stamped it with VersaMark, embossed with clear ep and attached to the card base. The patterned paper was die cut and layered onto the card. I had already printed the photo on photo paper and diecut the tag. Since I have absolutely nothing (hard to believe!) that I could use at the top of the tag, I cut a thin strip of cs to fit through the hole and snipped lengthwise to form fringe. I attached the tag to the card front with Sookwang tape and stapled across the fringe with a gold staple. That looked terrible, so I took it out and left holes in the card front. SO I added a few stitches across my paper "fibers". Yes, stitches. By hand. Me! What is the world coming to? I blame it on Nancy (stiz2003), LOL! Actually, I hate the way the paper fringe looks, but I really do like the way the stitching looks, even if it isnt EXACTLY straight.
I die cut the feathers, shaped them and edged them with Colorbox gold ink (the ends of the paper fringe were brushed with gold ink also.) They were stacked and placed on the card with matte Multi Medium.
The picture of the photo tag looks a little strange - the actual tag is much clearer. I enjoyed the memories; I hope Dave enjoys his card!
As always, thanks for looking!
P.S. - I posted this in the wrong gallery - so sorry!

Wow, fabulous photo, and a fabulous card too! I love the added feathers. It seems hard to believe that you didn't have anything to thread through the tag, but your improvisation looks just great.
