I found this stamp at a craft show for $1.00 and was anxious to use it. I began by painting the background in various hues of green with acrylic paint. The image was then stamped and all parts to be colored with filled with gesso. The water and waterlilies were colored with pencil Some people can color water with pencils but I'm not one of them. Izinks were sprayed on a mat and spritzed with water. Paper was dragged through it. The stamp was again stamped on the Izink colors and also on plain white. The wings were cut from the colorful Izink paper and the body from plain paper was shaded with pencils. The dragonflies were paper pieced. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I am fascinated by your pencil over gesso technique Nancy! Just so happens I have finally opened my gesso (after having it sit for at least 6 months). I will be playing with this technique for sure in the New Year. I adore dragonflies. We have a large variety of them up north and I could (and have) watch them for hours. Your pond scene is gorgeous! I think that shade of green is perfect pond-green. I keep coming back to this card just to gaze at it!

This is WAY more than a card, I think, Nancy - more like a WORK OF ART!!! Just the process you went through to color everything in different media - LOVE the colors, and - you PAPER PIECED the dragonflies - just heavenly!
