This card is for Becky's Color Challenge for this week, Saffron Pumpkins in the Meadow (So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Mossy Meadow). The dessert option this week is to have gold on your card. I resisted the impulse to make a Halloween card, but I did go for an autumn theme. I subbed Old Olive for the Mossy Meadow.
This adorable image is a digi from Mo Manning, one of my very favorite artists. It's called "Patrick in the Pumpkins." She tells the story of seeing her nephew when he was quite young, in just such a setting, and got the image down on paper. I'm so glad she did!
I colored Patrick and his pumpkins with Copic Markers, cut with a Nestie, and then sponged with So Saffron while it was still in the die. The layer behind it is gold, although it's hard to see in the photo. I cut a slightly larger layer, pressed it into VersaMark ink, sprinkled with gold embossing powder, and heat set.
This card is also for Misti's (Scrapperwannabe) card for our Hope You Can Cling To (HYCCT) drive. Last Friday's challenge was to make a card with strips of paper on it. I made a sort of quilt thingy to go behind Patrick, stamped the greeting, then put candy dots over the little inky mistake! (You know that mistakes are opportunities for embellishment, right?)
