For Toni's WT challenge today ~ For Crayon Out Loud . Love the punny title, Toni.
I had several ideas running round in my head, and a couple of them petered out into nothing, ending up in the bin. And I do have a pretty background sitting waiting to be used for something else. But since I need a birthday card for DH, pretty wasn't what was called for...
Last time I tried the Melted Crayon background I ended up with a muddy mess, so I was determined to get something better this time.
I don't have a craft iron or even a spare regular iron, so I improvised; I lined a skillet with heavy-duty tinfoil and heated it over a low heat. Then I used crayons to draw the background in with green, blue and white. I pressed a square of mountboard over it and that gave me the background. Then I arranged some chopped-up bits of crayon on the panel, and with very short blasts of the heatgun, melted them in. I added a Penny Black sheep and some IO birds to look sort of like swallows swooping over the meadow. I sponged the base in blue and green to match, and added birthday wishes .

Sabrina, this is amazing! I couldn't imagine how you did this, so loved reading the steps you went through. So those flowers are little bits of crayon quickly melted with your heat gun? Fantastic card for your DH!
