Another very ocean inspired color combination for me. Thanks Becky for this pretty color challenge. My mermaid (Invoke Arts) has been living on my workspace, slightly off to my left for weeks now. I made her one very rainy weekend from a slick magazine ad that had marvelous watery hues. I used VersaMark on the slick surface and embossed with both Verdigris and Super Fine Gold. Wish you should see her IRL, she shimmers. I used Liquid Applique for her hair and colored the curls with Copics. The arms and fin are joined together with fancy brads. She has a musical coconuts bra. And in her hand is a lipstick.
When I spied this wonderful beach scene from Kaiser Crafts, I knew I had found 'her' home. So she's pondering the fun sentiment from Inkadinkadoo:
With all my dietary restrictions, I'm left with water
and lipstick.
Now I don't know about you but the juxtaposition of that cheeky thought and my lovely mermaid tickled my funny bone!
Thanks for leaving your thoughts...I think I'll go have some water....
This card will be winging it's way to one of our own, Kathleen Lammie, who is in a battle for the very air she breathes...details over on the MMTPT challenge #296 today April 1,2014.

What an amazing mermaid, Susan - articulated limbs and all!! Having grown up by the sea I am totally drawn to the setting you found for her, too. Even the grey cloudy sky could be here, LOL.
