This week's Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge (their 100th challenge - congratulations!) is to use deep pink, lime green, and white on a Christmas card. Yikes! I'm such a stick-in-the-mud traditionalist with Christmas colours so this was a real challenge!
I just bought this Christmas rocking horse stamp and thought it might be fun to use with those colours and also Arizona Maine posted a theme challenge of toys for April on the SCS Christmas Card Challenge, so it's perfect for there.
I coloured the image with two shades of deep pink and two shades of lime green (as well as grey for the horse and gold for the stars), and mounted it on lime green and dark pink card stock. I added the pink ribbon and bow to echo the pink ribbon and bow on the gifts in the image.
Despite my reluctance to use these colours on a Christmas card, I'm quite happy with it and will send it to my young niece who loves everything pink!
But just to get myself back into my comfort zone, I did another card with the same image but more traditional Christmas colours!!
