I was inspired by the song ‘Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and made a ‘Sweet 16’ card for a young friend. I had so much fun making the background. I used the plastic bag technique from the MIX59 challenge, added gesso and molding paste.
I stamped the Julie Nutting doll onto a Prima Tag, made a paper-pieced dress and cardie with 7 Gypsies dp and the cut the doll out leaving a small border. I adhered the doll to the background using 3D foam tape. I stamped the words using distress ink, added some washi tape that has the number 16 on it. I will circle the number 16 before I send it.
I also made this card for the Word Play challenge – SING…here goes.
S = stamping, stencil, silver twine, sweet (chipboard word, inked in silver)
I = ink
N = numbers printed on washi tape, net stockings
G = gesso, girl
I had so much fun making this, thank you for looking.
