What a fun challenge! Phyllis Harris' images are so uplifting. I colored with copics and enhanced with pencils. Her dress got a bit messy, so I paper pieced it and shaded the dp with pencil. Sponged the sky in a dark blue but the image colors looked too cool. Sponged again in brown and got mud. Since I had no paper to match I swiped the same ink pads on the craft mat, spritzed with water and dragged glossy through it giving me a marbled matching color. Stencils were used to add the chevrons and dots to the background. Thanks for looking.

Nancy you covered up that 'mud' quite well! After hearing you talk about it yesterday, I wondered what you would do. Fabulous fix. Love the paper pieced dress, that spot of color is just perfect. Love your varied stitching too. Great job my friend.

I love this , Nancy! You did an amazing job fixing the things you didn't like - the outcome is amazing. I love how you colored this - really allows the little girl to own the focal spotlight. Just beautiful!
