This card will be going for the Teapot challenge this week, but it fits into so many of the DTGD challenges, that it's going there too.
This card will be going to Debby, the sister of I love rubber (Elizabeth). Debby has breast cancer, went through all the treaments, but the drug tamoxifen did some pretty nasty things to Debby's system. Debby is now in the hospital with Parkinson's, a result of the drug and it's bad side effects. So the Teapotters have been rounded up to send her some cheer!
I wanted to send cheerful polka dotted poppies (the teapot is black and white), they are alike, and as different as two sisters can be.
The whole Splendid Oval is popped up, so that the blue vellum bg doesn't touch the white card base.
I did my usual embroidery, but used a 20 spacing so all of the sewing would be on the black part.
I love that Debby has the same last name as me, though we are not related. She may think she is getting a card from a relative.
To the moderators, I'm sorry this Teapot challenge card is uploaded early, but it's also for many of the DTGD challenges!

Jennifer, If ever there was a card to cheer Debby's heart, it is this one for sure!! Love your dotted poppies on the fragile stems framed and stitched up in Black, White, and gingham!! Truly a smile maker!!

What a fabulous take on the story and teapot. This is really beautiful. I thought that was vellum, alright - it makes such a crisp yet soft background for those poppies. Bummer, I just placed an order last week, the first time for months, and at the last minute I took that die off. And the fine embroidery - my word, do you need a magnifying glass for that?
