First off this card is going to my niece Liz. I'm so proud of her. She got her Masters a year ago and also got her teaching certificate. Last year with teaching jobs scarce she was only able to find a part time job. A full time job opened up for the coming year and her principal said she better apply (they really like her)..so she'll be a FT teacher this fall...oh and BTW, she's an elementary art teacher.
I tried the acrylic distress technique. It was fun but took me a bit of time. I did make 2 backgrounds so I might make another card or use it some other time. The girl is one of my photo stamps, stamped on glossy paper and then sponged with distress inks. I cut up a Cheery Lynn small flourish die to fit around the sentiment. And that gorgeous ribbon came from this incredible store Nicholas Kniel in Atlanta. It was hard to hold back..I just got a few (they weren't cheap). Fun challenge for today..got me out of my usual rut.

Acrylic distress is fun - I think I discovered it through a challenge to use acrylics, and I've often used it since. Well done your niece - and as an art teacher she will love all the details in this.

this is very sweet and also funky. my daughter's name is Liz, she also recently got her masters, works full time as a counselor at UW-Lacrosse and is a Mom with another on the way. Lots on both of their plates.
