A big congrats to Robin (Missro), the Featured Stamper! What a lovely gallery she has and after much browsing, I chose her Happy Birthday Joan card to case. I kept the basic layout and white background but turned it on its side, used different images and made mine a window instead of a layer.
I needed a birthday card for my nephew and since he was born in Hawaii, I usually make him a beach related card. Though I have to admit, this beach scene reminds me more of the town where I grew up rather than Hawaii. The images are from Our Craft Lounge (sadly they closed ðY(TM) up their business). I stamped the scene on top then added a black frame and the top white layer w/ windows cut out using Spellbinders long deckled rectangles. Another one of the images was stamped on the top layer and all of it was colored w/ Copic markers. The little seagull was fussy cut and attached on top. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.
Thanks so much for looking! Details are on my blog: The Write Stuff

Julie, this is a beautiful scene! Your coloring is superb. Love the frame you made. That's a perfect place to retire. I'll just keep it in mind to keep me going until retirement.

Julie, I love this scene. It reminds me of San Diego. It was wonderful being so close when we lived in Phoenix. We'd throw a bag in the car and off we'd go for a weekend. You've captured the beach feel perfectly here. Fantastic coloring with your Copics. I love it when you can get a watercolored effect with them. The little scene in front with the life preserver and the gull - ack! I love it! Congratulations on being a weekly favorite with this card.

What a wonderful beach scene Julie. So very inviting. Am awed by your design.
