What a site for today's Inspiration Challenge! Everything looked delish but way too pretty to eat, lol. So I bet you're wondering how this masculine card ended up the gallery for such frilly, embellished cakes. Well, I went with Fleur de Sel Caramels for my inspiration. No frills and it has the wood grain and masculine colors and I need a masculine card.
I stamped and water colored both of the images and used the out of the box Nestie technique to die cut it using a Spellbinders labels 18. I added an extra cut out lantern on top of the base image for a little dimension. On the frame, I cut the inside out and attached the quote behind it.
The top background was done with a Cuttlebug distressed stripe embossing folder. I don't have any of the new M-Bossabilities yet so I inked the top side of the folder using the Memento inks before I ran it through the Grand Calibur. I guess this makes it more like the TLC160 Cuttlebug Negative Effect. On the bottom, I stamped the Honeycomb Background on the dk brown c/s w/ the cocoa ink. It reminded me of chicken wire and I thought that would fit in w/ my rustic looking card. Two screw head brads complete the 4.25 x 5.50 card.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups are on my blog: The Write Stuff

Julie, your cards are always so well executed, with everything playing together beautifully and this is no exception - you've showcased this new set wonderfully!

Those carmels sound so delish, don't they? Great card! The background with the "mortar" looks like frosting so you got the cake in there, too. Like your framed image and the pops of green, too.
