Today's technique challenge was the acrylic distress technique. This is so much fun, I don't know why I never tried it before! I painted a piece of cardstock with muslin acrylic paint, let it dry, then embossed butterflies with my newly purchased Sissix folder and sanded the embossed pattern. The butterflies didn't sand off too well (maybe I didn't use a thick enough paint layer) Then I used a sponging block to sponge Tim Holtz 'broken china' distress ink on the sanded part. Stamped sentiment and presto, finished!

That's so light and summery, Ina. That's a lovely embossing folder, too.
I've always found this technique requires more sanding than, say, something like white core cardstock. It makes sense, really, when you think that an acrylic paint is almost like a thin coating of plastic.
