This week our mission is to bring some cheer, warm thoughts, and prettiness into the life of Barbara, who is going through a rather tough time with another bout of cancer. It's all about the birds.
Cindy asked us to bring a little funniness also, so with this card I will include this old joke. I will also include a nice poem about the peacock, that was written by a child.
I was at the mall the other day eating at the food court. I noticed an old man watching a teenager sitting next to him. The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors: green, red, orange, and blue. The old man kept staring at him. The teenager would look and find the old man staring every time. When the teenager had enough, he sarcastically asked, “What’s the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?”The old man did not bat an eye in his response, “Got drunk once and had sex with a peacock. I was just wondering if you were my son.”
Funny thing is, I've seen that young man around!
I guess I had better read all the instructions before I go making and completing my next card. There was supposed to be hearts and ribbons too! Oh well, the company is always nice at the back door!
The peacock is stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with silver ep. He was cut out and then all those pretty crystals were added. I didn't have the tiny ones in the teal, so I used a Sharpie marker to add a little color, the same with the eye crystal. All the stamping is done with Versa Mark and embossed with silver ep. The oval is done with alcohol inks and edged with silver ep. The envie has the coordinating birdcage, also done in silver ep.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Barbara.
A big Thank you to Robin for letting us Teapotters bring some happy mail into Barbara's life at this time.

Jennifer, you surely have brought "prettiness" to Barbara with this lovely card. The silver peacock and silver embossing are so beautiful especially against the rich teal color.

You're certainly bringing prettiness with this. That peacock is truly stunning, and the silver floral sprays are so pretty too. I'd love to work that peacock into an embroidery design - it's a great image.
