I haven't found time to do a challenge for ages so today I took a stab at this week's inspiration challenge. I was feeling a bit "punchy" so I chose this Flower Stalks Wall Art as my inspiration piece from the Oopsy Daisy site.
Other than the fact that I used lots of punches, this is totally unlike just about anything else in my gallery. I printed the inspiration piece at card size and cut it up to use as a mask to sponge the background (my fingers are quite colourful at the moment). Then I set about punching circles out of bits of scrap cardstock. For the leaves and stalks, I sponged ink onto vellum. A bit of sponging over the circles to 'grunge it up' a bit and this is what I came up with.
I have a few "unbirthday" cards I need to send (for those that I forgot and since today is "I Forgot" Day (well it was when I made the card) I am also claiming this for this week's Free 4 All Challenge to pick a 'holiday' that is 'celebrated' in July. (I also forgot to use any stamps...) :-)
PT: Well, there are 32 circles and 9 leaves on this crazy card. I should take this to the Tea Party this week - it looks like someone broke their abacus!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week.

This is just so cool, Izzy! What a great inspiration card. Love the sponged colorful layers and punched elements. Sorry that I didn't comment earlier...I forgot (yuk, yuk). Really a work of art.

Wow, Izzy, you captured that pretty piece of wall art PERFECTLY!! Yes, it may be different from the rest of your gallery, but it certainly is just as special. I think this is so cool. And I love how colorful it is!! Nicely done.
