I was SO honored to be asked to be on the Dirty Dozen Design Team with this awesome group of artists who have inspired me on a daily basis! My name is Sharon Harnist (aka StamperSharon) and I live with my husband of 12 years and two young daughters in North Texas.
In my past professional working life I was an executive assistant for 24 years, mostly in the banking, retail corporate offices, and oil well servicing industries. But now I've been a SAHM since August 2005 and have enjoyed spending more time with my girls and getting to stamp and scrapbook more!
I had always been in to some type of craft (but not yet rubber stamping) and started scrapbooking in about 1996. In Jan 2004, a friend showed me her scrapbook where she stamped a title with an alphabet stamp set. I thought that was a great idea and wanted to know where I could some alpha stamps like that! Coincidentally, about a month later, another friend invited me to her Stampin' Up Sell-A-Bration workshop. I was excited to attend and learn more about rubber stamps because every time I had walked thru the local craft stores and looked down the rubber stamp aisle, I wondered why so many people were always on those aisles and what in the world could they do with all those stamps?!! I went to my friend's SAB workshop, vowing I would only get one alphabet set and that was it. Well, after walking away with enough product to earn 3 free SAB stamp sets and the catalog, staying up almost all night looking thru it and watching my "want" list grow, I was hooked! I called the Demonstrator the next day and booked my own workshop so I get more stamping stuff! Shortly thereafter, I found this wonderful site and was in heaven!
I tried talking myself out of it, but after a few months, I gave in and signed up to be a SU Demonstrator in May of 2004 -- mostly as a hobbyist. A major deciding factor was this FABULOUS stamping community and being able to see so many great stamped samples! I've really enjoyed honing my stamping skills thru the daily challenges and trying new techniques that I may not have otherwise tried. I'm also discovering a penchant for 3D items and will try stamping on just about anything that stands still long enough!
I'm so thrilled to have been asked to give back to this tremendous site and hope that maybe my contributions will help others in some small way. Many thanks to the entire Splitcoast Team for this opportunity and for all you do for the site each day!
