Marisa, aka whiterockmama, aka MamaRitzi was our Featured Stamper earlier this month. I'm late out of the gate as usual, but it was her birthday last week. I decided to CASE another one of the many fabulous cards in her gallery as a birthday card. I chose this card as my inspiration as it was a comment I made about the snow in the background of her photo that resulted in our first round of back and forth messages. Two years later and all I can see when I look outside is snow, snow snow - how about you Marisa!?! Are the cherry trees out your way in blossom yet?
Things I changed: Different stamps; made it a birthday card; added wet & dry embossing and score lines. And, since it was for Marisa, I had to be sure to include Verve stamps & Swiss Dots!
I perused this week's Inspiration Challenge website too and used the Nurse Barbie as inspiration: the pleats on her dress are represented in the score lines; I have included polka dots and I used the black/red/white colour combo.
This also fits Glenda's Random Amusing challenge # 101 to use both polka dots and stripes on a card. I have striped ribbon and score lines and polka dotted ribbon and Swiss Dots.
So, happy belated birthday Marisa. Hope you had a great day and a year filled with blessings (and stamping).

First of all, "wee hearts" don't count as I can't see them - LOL! Second of all, I'm jealous of all the challenges you did. Third of all, I never had a Barbie growing up as my mother thought it was too anatomically correct. Bummer!! I have to say Dizzi, when you settle down and stay at home for awhile, you create the most awesome cards. This is SO beautiful and I love the card you chose to case from Marisa's gallery. Isn't it funny how you can connect with certain stampers like that - over snow. We connected over punches, didn't we? And, now look what's happened. That darn Benzi! Anyway, you truly did a beautiful job to honor Ritzi and also to send her for her special day!! Hugs!

What no digging a hole? What a winner you've gone and crafted today for your card. Oh wow, I love black white and red together. Those colors are fabulous together and so is this card. You had it goin' on with this one. She'll love it.

This is so sweet, Heather! I do love your pops of red on the black and white. Your scoring along the edges adds so much definition. This is such a striking card--well, done on a wonderful CASE of Marisa.

What fun this card is - love all the descriptions of how and why you did things on it - it is definitely a special card. I especially like the story of how you and Marissa became friends - that makes this card even more special. Hope you thaw out soon!

Oh that's just beautiful Izzy!! So striking and graphically perfect - sort of like Ritzi's cards if you know what I mean - somehow the layout is so striking!! Look at Benzi - already hinting at a card for her birthday - yes she likes tulips!;)
Love the your pretty border! Lovely hearts - btw - we had sun today !!!!
