Hi! This card was made for today's Clean and Simple Challenge: Olive, Pink, Kraft and blue.
I am trying to get ALL my Christmas cards finished before Thanksgiving. I know, I'm NEVER going to get all 150 finished in time, but one can hope, can't one? I went outside this evening and packed up our Scout's dog house, leash, food and water bowls and his favorite toys. I put them in the shed, because, frankly, I just couldn't throw them away. I'm very hopeful that someone has decided to keep him...He's been gone so long now, and trips to pound, and calls to the no kill shelters is killing me. I keep seeing all the other animals who need homes....Scout has an ID tattoo, so HOPEFULLY, someone has him, and when they take him to the vet, the vet will see it. Or, well, the other ending may be...you know what I'm thinking.
I used my favorite tree from A Walk in the Woods. I cut the focal image to 3 " x 4 1/2" and then tore a piece of scrap paper that was 5" long to use as a mask. I placed the mask across the bottom 1/3 of the card and stamped the focal tree in Adirondack's Espresso. Next, I sponged in Espresso along the edge of the scrap to create snow drifts. I moved the scrap ABOVE the 1/2 point and stamped in the same tree twice, moving it down the scrap to make a shorter tree. I made several more snow banks and then placed the scrap down to form a mask for the sun. I placed a hole punched scrap on top of the other scrap so that part of the circle was masked off and sponged in the Adirondack Espresso for the outline of the sun. Next, I sponged in Pink for the sun and Palette Hybrid Ink's Landscape. I sponged in the sky with Distress ink-Tumbled Glass.
Finished card size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
