I'm late, I'm late! These little birds had to fly all the way from Australia to St. Lucia via Dublin, and now they're about to set off for PA. And before that they had to pay a visit to the hairdresser for a major dye job.
Thank goodness for a WT challenge which combined almost perfectly with my idea for this, as it's the first chance I've had to make a card all week.
As per the WT I used one sheet of (white) card. Cut it in half and used half for the base and half for printing on.
Base was stamped with Pocket Silhouettes, Inspired by Nature, an unknown fern and a vine from Autumn Leaves. The ferns were embossed before I used Pocket Silhouettes. Then I lightly chalked the background.
Birds from Angels Landing and letters for sentiment were printed on the other half of the card. Coloured the birds with re-inkers, added Glossy Accents to the beaks and popped up on foam. Cut a curved strip of card to match the vine more or less, sponged with green, stamped with leaves and placed the letters on.
In keeping with the tropical theme I've made a coconut and Malibu cake to bring along .

Hey, no fair! I am so late getting here, I bet the cake is all gone! Did you save me some Sabrina?? Snort! If not, that's okay, as I could most definately go without packing on the extra weight! Yikes!
OMG! Those little birdies are so very precious! I love their hair dye! A little hint of color here and there......
And they did a very good job of getting to the destination with their big birthday banner! Whoo hoo!
Your birdies remind me of that tune.....
Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree
Da.da.da.?????? You and me?????
I can remember the tune, but not the words! That is a blast from my past! I will have to google that and refresh my memory! Your card rocks, what a scene you created for Eula! I love it!!! You did good! Hope you are feeling ALL better!!!! Hugs

This looks like the rainforest all right. I love the ferns and foliage. Your birds are so cute holding up that banner. What an inspired idea! I'm glad you made it to the party and your card will make Miss Eula's birthday so special.
Oh, and please save me a piece of that cake. I love coconut!!!
