For the challenge, we were to make a Thank You card or Thanksgiving card and also to include some type of bird on it. Well, I chose the Thank You card because I have so many things to be thankful for. Today a couple of things happened to add to the list......details....
There is this sweet older lady that is in charge of the club house at one of my pools. When she saw that I was there, she just had to share the news letter with me. You see awhile back after a very windy storm a couple of lounge chairs blew into the pool. So I fished them out. This must have impressed her because she wrote a small paragraph how "the pool lady" had snagged the chairs with her long pole going way beyond her call of duty. How sweet was that? This card is for her.
I stamped my images on w/c paper clear eb, drew in the tree trunk. All coloring was done with re-inkers. The sky is a wash of color, then sponged the clouds with RR cloud stencil.
Was just playing around with the bg, decided to go with a crazy quilt design adding faux texture qualifying it for yesterdays challenge. Added the little faux stitches. Sentiment was computer generated.
Oh, yeah, the second thing today. While cleaning my last pool I heard a ton of sirens going off. As I was leaving the cuddle-sac, there was a policeman blocking the entrance. Before getting in my truck I talked to one of the neighbors who just found out what happened. Apparently there was a bank robbery and one of the suspects was loose on foot in the neighborhood. Yikes! So as I was leaving I asked the kind policeman if it was okay for me to leave, he said yes, I stupidly replied "are you sure they won't catch me? hehe.....meant to say "stop" me at the next entrance. Thankfully he didn't detain me.
Well, that's it for today. Hope you like my card. Now I have to make cookies for my DD so she can take them to a cookie party tonight. ....TFL :0)
Hi Sis! What a day!

This is an adorable card. I love how your creative mind works - such as with the patchwork BG.
The story cracked me up too. I'm just a little sorry they didn't haul you in though. That would have made some pretty hilarious card making from your SCS friends. You probably would have come up with a wonderful slammer card too! I'm just saying...

Cathy, there are so many fun elements to this card! The little bird is adorable and the scene, as usual, is terrific. Love the quilt background! BTW, you live a very interesting life! :-)
