I filled these cute Fall Wreath Treat Cup Candy Holders with Reeses pieces in fall colors. The tab is a pull out piece that allows access to the candy from the back of the holder. This could easily be adapted for a Christmas Wreath candy holder.
I got the idea from a Stampin Up demonstrator and then tweaked it to fit my theme. The orange square is a 3"x3" square with a 1 3/4" circle cut from the center. The brown square is 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" with another 1 3/4" circle cut from the center.
You then cut a piece of orange that is 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" and attach the folded Round tab (brown) to one shorter side.
The trick is to place Sticky strip CLOSE to only THREE edges of the BACK of the orange square, then insert the treat cup (WITHOUT removing the covering from the treat cup adhesive). Now carefully attach the orange piece to the brown square while holding the treat cup in place.
After you have assembled, slide the tabbed piece in between the orange and brown squares---from the edge of the squares that doesn't have adhesive on it. This will cover the opening of the treat cup. Allow tab to protrude from the side. Now you can open the candy holder and insert the candy. You won't have to destroy the candy holder to get to the candy!!
I added leaf cutouts that I adhered with Snail adhesive---I kind of bent them as I attached them so they were partly on the sides of the treat cup and partly on the orange paper base. A ribbon bow adhered with a glue dot completes the look.
