I kept my eyes open when I took my kids to the library this morning, knowing that today's Inspiration Challenge (IC182--Book Covers) was to make a card inspired by a book cover. When I saw an adorable book by Don Freeman called "Corduroy's Buttons," I knew that I'd met my inspiration!
(See the book cover here: http://www.amazon.com/Corduroys-Butt...3707429&sr=1-7 )
I've had buttons on the mind ever since Thursday's Beautiful Buttons Ways to Use It Challenge (WT220), and when I saw the cute jar of buttons on this book cover, I knew that I had to design a card using the button jar idea. I decided to make a button birthday card for my dear friend (even though her birthday isn't until November!!). I was further inspired by the colors I'm wearing today--purple and green. Finally, I looked for some inspiration in some old sketch challenges, and found the perfect sketch in SC77.
The lilac background paper was hand-stamped using images from my TAC Sew Fun set, which was perfect for this card. The sentiment above the jar reads "Sew glad we're friends."
Thanks for looking!
Emily
