Here's a quick totally self-indulgent card for ME before I make another one. I loved this photo of a magnolia in full bloom that I took in the Botanic Gardens on Easter Sunday. The early birds caught the worm - by the time we were leaving the sky was grey.
The base is a 5 3/4" white square, stamped with the grass from Inspired by Nature with Versafine Olympia Green. I pierced a hole in the centre top and added a brad to hold the picture.
Sized the photo down and printed it.
The photo was 4" x 3", so for the frame I took a piece of card that was 4 3/4 x 3 3/4. On the back, I pencilled in lines 3/4 in from each edge. I scored along the inside square formed by the pencil lines, and then from the corner of the square to the corner of the card. I then attached the photo, and folded upwards along the scored lines to create a frame, pinching it at each of the corners to give a bevelled effect.I drew along each inner edge with a white gel pen just for some definition. Some wire to hang it on the brad, and that's it.
Now I have to exercise a bit more imagination and come up with a proper card. But this was fun - thanks, Julia.
