Well, what an interesting tea-party theme this week. Suits me - we aren't vegetarians but we do eat vegetarian meals 3 or 4 times a week, so I have no problem bringing some greens along as Cindy asked us to . i only just planted my beans and peas out today, but I brought the cabbage that I forgot to cook last night with our beef and Guinness stew.
Why it's not a Cabbage White butterfly on that teapot is beyond me!! We even saw one when we were walking along the canal on Saturday, but I stuck with the teapot and made a Peachy Pink one instead.
The base is A2 dark navy.
The next layer is some red-cabbage Core'dinations embossed with the Textiles ef. I distressed the edges and sponged them with ColorBox Magenta ink, and then punched the corners.
Then a scalloped Nestabilities from the same card, edges sponged and Petal Pink Liquid Pearls added (those are the eggs that the caterpillars will hatch from, sigh...).
For my cabbage leaves, debhorst had very kindly sent me some waxed paper so that I could try out the wax paper resist technique. I thought it would make great cabbage leaves - and I now well and truly have green fingers, aside from the gardening I fitted in this morning. I cut them with plain oval Nestabilities and sponged the edges with Magenta again.
The butterfly was a scrap of card from the table, punched and embossed, then lightly sanded and with gold Liquid Pearls down the body.
Thanks for such a healthy tea-party today, Cindy, just what most of us need after Easter.

It is one pretty card you created here Sabrina. What a beautiful butterfly. I love my veggies, but with veggie topping, maybe some Olive oil, butter or just a few herbs. LOL Beautiful work. TFS
