Can I tell you I have so missed the IC, Stef! But I'm back and rested and have a look at what inspired me! these vases! I've been working on the His Holy Names 09 challenge, CREATOR. The gorgeous vases and grid from the Fritz&Floyd site were just the inspiration I needed to bring it all together. I'd love to know what you think!
I chose my favorite Psalm which reminds me that the LORD created me...HE knows all my strengths and weaknesses. This is a 6x6 page that is mounted on chipboard and joined to the other pages with metal rings. My base is Basic Grey Two Scoops---Blueberry Custard. I wanted to use a DNA helix to represent the complexity of my being, my life. My DS found one in Google images and I changes the colors in Photoshop and then printed it and hand carved (exato knife). I placed it on the edge where I can see through it. i want to be reminded of being transparent. The word CREATOR is inked on acetate with Stazon olive green. I think the alpha is Fontwerks. In thinking about my beginning, I wanted to use a photo of my parents before being pregnant with me. All the love and possibility of their lives and knowing the LORD had me planned. Their photo is also photoshopped. I used K&CO life journey metal frame and silvered it with Tim Holtz distress pewter paint. I also added a TH copper metal key that has the word secret impressed upon it (again harking back to being made in the secret place). The scriptures are printed onto Prima Marketing journaling notebook. I cut out the oval from a larger sheet of paper. The TH idea-ology ticket was inked with VersaMagic SeaBreeze to tone down the color...adding the label maker MY in black. The long narrow Memory Box gingercakes paper lifts up for more journaling. The brads are TH. I stamped my birth date at the left bottom using Purple Onion postmark set. it is inked with Palette grey. The gold ribbed ribbon is a Japanese product. And the sheer ribbon on the key is May Arts. I added A Muse 'Shalom' above my mamma and daddy. Crafty Secrets finishes my page with the date March 1 inked with ColorBox raven black
Thanks for looking and reading my comments (if you made it!!!) I appreciate your feedback on my work. Have a wonderful weekend

Ohhhhh! I admired this for most of 5 minutes before I decided to read up on it a then I saw it was yours. Awesome! Again! It's hard to believe all the thought you put into each part. Mine just sort of flop together. This is amazing - every part of it.
That is one extraordinary collage and the scripture is just perfect--what a job on the helix! This is a treasure that was made with so much thought--gorgeous result of your 'labor of love'!

This is absolutely amazing!
I just kept looking at it for the longest time :-) What an awesome way to do this challenge. I love everything about this- it's just a wonderful collage of great words, textures, and colors. I love that you put the pic of your parents in that pretty little frame up in the corner, and your birthday in the postmark. The whole thing is just wonderful!
