This ones for my granddaughter's first birthday! The YouTube technique I used is called "Faux Tile Sponging," and I have wanted to try it out for several years! Today's the day! It is similar in initial preparation to the "Delft Tiling Technique found on SCS without a finishing stamped pattern after the tiles are created and color sponged. I also chose to use a two-tone inking style...a bit of personal modification!
My card fits five SCS challenges as follows:
#1 - Alphabet Challenge, Round 8, Letter G for Giraffe. I chose not to complete the optional double challenge.
#2 - Featured Stamper Challenge FS578 - 3/4/18 - Bronwyn Eastley aka Bron, who has a wonderful gallery with many 3D card projects. I chose Christmas Circus by BronJ at Splitcoaststampers for its layout inspiration with some modifications.
#3. Teapot Tuesday Challenge - MMTPT502 - 3/6/18: "The Heart of the Matter": Add a border to your card, i.e., stamped, washi tape, doodled, scored line(s), punched, die-cut, etc. My border is my ribbon band.
#5 Use It Challenge - USEIT2018 - ongoing. Use old materials and tools that have been gathering dust or something new that's been waiting to be used. My digital image has been gathering dust in my computer, and my lacy framed die was a birthday present from a friends way back in August and I have not removed the packaging!

What an adorable card this is Carlene. I have a particular fondess for giraffe's ever since on "kissed" me at a local zoo, and this little fella is as cute as cute can be! Your bg is just stunning with the 2 colors of sponging you did in your tiles. The fancy frame really draws your eye right to this sweet little giraffe you have colored so beautifully. This gorgeous ribbon bow and the hint of pearls are the perfect finishing touches on this gorgeous card. Your granddaughter will love it! ~Karen.
