This is for Jeannie's mixed media challenge - use a mister. LOL I actually forgot to use my mister as I used ironing spray instead, however I have it on good authority that Mermaids call ironing spray starch - mist and they call spray cans, misters....and who is going to argue with a Mermaid.
Ironing spray starch, aka mist, is much easier to work with than water in a mister - it's not as 'wet' as water and it doesn't dilute the colour of what ever medium you are using.
This background is Brusho's, ironing spray mist and cling wrap. The cling wrap is squished on to the sprayed cardstock and allowed to air dry for a while. I was too impatient to let it fully dry so I hit it with a heat gun.
The image is a digi image by Aurora Wings, printed on copy paper and coloured with Prismacolour pencils and the dark bits are Prisma watercolour pencils, without using water as it would buckle on copy paper.
I used a scalpel to ever so gently cut into the Brusho card base, just enough to peel back the very top layer, so I could stick the Mermaid on and make it look like she is popping out of the water.
Thank you for looking and I wish you a happy weekend.
