Growing up in New England we usually had at least one "snow day" off from school due to the weather. My siblings and I would get up in the morning and anxiously await the news on the radio to see if school was closed. My dad was a school teacher so he would get the day off too! My mom, on the other hand, never liked these days!! When I saw the tiltle of this weeks challenge it brought back all the snow day memories!
In keeping with the challenge I kept the design and color scheme simple. Crumb Cake cardstock was used with Palette Burnt Umber ink on the base card. The sentiment was created using JustRite stamps in the Times New Roman font. I had completely forgotten that I had these and they worked perfectly for me here.
The tiny swirl of snowflakes is from one of those $1 clear sets you can get at Michaels - and it's good to know I can put these to use once in a while!
The main image is from Stamp Zia - it is stamped in versamark and embossed with white EP. I love the look of white embossing and thought it would work well here.
I wanted to keep the embellishments at a minimum - the twine and brown button were just enough to finish it off.
Thanks for checking me out!!

I like your story about the snow days you'd have as a kid. My kids are hoping for the day off tomorrow; we live in New Jersey and are expecting 4 - 8" tonight.
Love your simple card, and those snowflakes really are very cool the way they drift over your card!

Very, very, pretty, pretty card!
I remember (just barely) having a snow day when I was a youngster. Now I am a retired teacher and can remember how much I appreciated the occasional day off due to snow or ice!

Stunning card. I guess I forgot to leave a little love on this amazing card. I love everything about this card: stunning stampset in white, colors used to create the card, and a fabulous remembrance to go with the card.
Thanks for sharing a great recollection and a beautiful card.
