Hi! This card was made for today's Free 4 All Challenge: Paper Piecing; yesterday's Ways to Use it challenge: Frame it; and the Stampin' B's Challenge: Thanksgiving card with pumpkin.
We've had some drama. Our dog, Scout, a mix breed, whose getting on in years, has disappeared. Mark can't remember letting him out to go this morning. I remember letting him in last night. That means, something happened to our poor old soul. I can't even think about all the places he could be. Markie spent the afternoon and then night crying. I'm really upset, but I am in high hopes that he's on a walk about, as his dish is EMPTY! And, the puppies don't like his food, so there is hope. If not, you've certainly heard that animals find a quiet place when they are very sick. (However, Scout is a healthy older dog.)
I used the checked strip from Snowman Country to create the frame. First, I stamped 4 strips and cut them out. Next, I cut out the center nestie for the focal panel. I adhered the focal panel to the Deepest Mahogany square and used a tape runner to adhere each of the strips. Then, I cut down the strips to create the frame!
The scene was sponged in with Distress inks. The wheat was stamped and off-stamped repeatedly to create a field. I stamped the girl onto Wowza Watercolor paper and onto the checked designer paper. I paper pieced the pumpkins and the dress. The girl and pumpkin were colored with Copics. I sponged over the edges with AdirondackÂ’s Espresso.
