This is for LSC128 to create a summer card. Nothing says summer to me like sitting on the beach. Usually with my sisters and BIL's. I have created this type of scene several times but never tire of it. I love the ocean and love trying to make it look realistic on my scene cards.
I stamped the chair image and then used a spone dauber to apply caramel ink all aound for the sandy beach area. I sponged the ocean with caribbean and tried really hard to get the correct perspective in making it look like the scene was going off into the distance. I hand brushed a few sea oat sprigs in the background and used itty bitty bg for sand texture. I put liquid applique on my index finger and daubed it lightly around to create the sea foam and to avoid the dreaded bubble blob. Just touching it on lightly allows it to heat in a much softer way. I sketched out a little book and cut it out to pop on the arm of the chair and hand painted a few stripes on some ww cardstock to create a folded beach towel. I added flipflops to complete the scene and then lightly smooshed versa over most of the card front and embossed with iridescent ice ep for sparkle. Sorry it such a repeat scene but I love the color combo and setting. Wish I was there for a week or two.

Don't be sorry! This is beautiful and evokes great memories of the beach this summer for me, too. I learn something every time I see and read about your cards Thanks!

second comment on this one but I wanted to thank you for your detail explanaion of how you create your scenes. However, I need much practice with the L.A. , I ususally end up with a fuzzy mess, not the wonderful foaamy sea waves you create! Anyhow, I love your beach scene and thanks for your continuing source of inspiration to us all!!!
