Diane is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us some inspiration for spring--so much so that "spring" is our dessert option! The colors are Boho Blue, Fresh Freesia and Soft Sea Foam.
I am a little late to the Petite Pots party--about nine years, as it turns out! After I grabbed this adorable set from the Papertrey site a week or so ago (and I'm glad I did!), I discovered that it was the anniversary set for that company in 2015! I'm so glad they re-released it, because I had great fun making this card. As you can probably see, each little element is a separate stamp, so the stems, flowers and pots can be made in a variety of color combinations!
For my card, I used the three challenge colors, plus a generous group of allowed neutrals. That way I could give the pots and flowers some interest and a little depth. I did a little selective inking on one set of stems, and colored in the other two with a dark green colored pencil.
I wasn't sure what layout I was going to use as I stamped, stamped, stamped my flowers and pots. When it was time to mount it, the panel seemed too big for a standard A2 card, so this became a 5-1/2" square card. The center panel is 4" square, as are the two DS panels behind it.
A few Cloud 9 drops finished off my birthday card for a friend who is a gardener! Spring is right around the corner. Please join in the challenge this week and help welcome it in with some pretty spring images!
