This week the Tea Potter's are sending paper hugs and smiles to Annie who had a debilitating stroke. Annie was a successful theater director for decades, so our hostess Polly challenged us to make a card to illustrate a favorite play or musical.
I just recently took my granddaughter to see The Lion King. The acting and singing were top notch, but the costumes are what made this play for me. Spectacular. I especially loved the movement of the lions' masks which were worn mostly above the actors' heads. I also learned that The Lion King is the #1 musical of all time by a far margin. Since Annie also loves dogs, I cast one my childhood favorites -- Rin Tin Tin -- in the starring role. Hakuna Matata is a catch phrase from the movie and the play. It is Swahili meaning "no troubles" "no worries" "take it easy". It was typed using Blockhead Dude font.
To make this card, I merged the dog and lion head and printed. I roughly drew in a bluff for him to stand upon. Masked the images and ink blended DOX for the bg.
I hope the many fun and imaginative cards headed to Annie will bring her smiles and delight and some wonderful memories of her theatrical and choral days. And, I hope your day is filled with fun and imaginative things as well. TFL
