Actually, I prefer long walks through Hobby Lobby. LOL.
It's Teapotter Tickle time! Sabrina has given us a very fun challenge. We are stepping into the New Year with step cards and feet images. I opted for both for extra cookies. What a great excuse to finally use this fun Colorado Craft Company stamp--which happens to be on sale right now. And it also happens to work for Kim's Denim VSN Mini Challenge that I never got a chance to do.
You know how I am funfold-challenged. But The Cat's Pajamas has a couple of options of step card templates in the Cutables section of the shop. That made my life way easier! It cuts the base and all the panels. No measuring!
I cut the base in a denim blue and went with white for all the panels. But I didn't really want the back panels to be white, so I decided to try out my new SU Spiral Dye stamp again today, but this time with the gelli plate. I used a brayer to spread Kaleidacolor ink on the gelli plate and then made an impression on it with the stamp. By the way, I have a really cool extra background now from cleaning the ink off the brayer and then stamping it with the stamp that was inked up from the gelli plate. I wanted the colors of my image to really match, so I swiped the ink pad on my silicone mat and watercolored the image. This was risky, because I had stamped it on Neenah with Memento instead of WC paper with Versafine. But it worked out great! I used Copics for the arms and boots. For the shadow I mixed all the different colors together and did a little wash. And then I spritzed the ink with water and picked up some splatters to add a bit of interest around the image. I had a lot of fun in my craft room this morning. It's nice to be on vacation. I'm not working again until January!
