I finally sat down to concentrate on Wednesdays Water Color Challenge - Linda is the hostess and she directed us to this video to learn about Autumn Watercoloring:
I did not have any good large leaf stamps to use for this - so I die cut a large oak leaf out of acetate and used the negative space to trace the leaf onto watercolor paper with a Micron 01 fine tip brown marker. Then I colored the whole leaf with a watery Yellow Ochre - then added some Crimson Red and Burnt Umber.
I dried the panel with my heat tool and then colored around the leaf with more watery Yellow Ochre and finally splattering the panel with Bronze water color paint.
I'm pretty happy with how this came out! No where near Debby Hughes' lovely leaves on the video - but very good for me! I'm slowly learning little bits of water coloring techniques.
