Ok, the most surprising thing about this is that I did not use TH Vintage photo on it....I know it is hard to believe....
The watercolor challenge is in week 20 - so hard to believe and I have enjoyed every week and feel like I am learning so much! This week Linda picked watercoloring fall leaves. There is a wonderful video by Debbie Hughes (limedoodle on SCS) linked to the challenge. I watched the video 10 times.
So I learned that my $6 watercolor set (on sale at Michaels) probably isn't the best for doing this type of painting but I made it work. Next time, I will get my better set out (after I find it - lol). Debbie has the best voice and I could listen to if for hours. I watched the next video in line by her where she talked about how she mixes colors and gets her lovely effects. Then when I was painting mine, I was laughing the whole time imagining my video of my watercoloring...."the colors in this inexpensive set sit only on the first layer of the paper and give a soft, muted effect when dry. The best part is you can use them in your bible journaling because they have a high talc content which doesn't bleed through the page if you are too lazy to do a base layer of gesso.'' LOL!
I also used Karen's awesome color combination in the color challenge this week (old olive, real red, pumpkin pie, and mango melody) added in neutral white, gray, and black of course.
Love the image Debbie used - wow, I totally want that one! Since I didn't have it or anything close to it, I just drew some leaves and acorns with a micron pen (should have used pencil - I will next time) and then painted them.
Thanks for dropping by and looking - many hugz.
