Very cloudy and cool here today, so the colors don't look that great.
I belong to one swap group and the technique for September is stamping with rubber bands. TLC did that a while ago, so I included that challenge along with today's tea party for Howard and Paula and today's colors: merry merlot, mossy meadow and bumble bee.
I made a panel of 4.25x11" crumb cake so I could make two cards with the rubber band stamping. I used the DOx inks on the rubber bands to create sort of a plaid pattern. I hadn't used the fungi and flower die yet so I cut that out of the vanilla cs and sponged a bunch of SU colors on it, ranging from old olive, retired mellow moss to cherry cobbler and a few retired neutrals. I added some pen colors to the flowers and details on the mushrooms. I layered that on a light mossy green diecut to give it sturdiness and cut the 'best wishes' from that same random green three times. I'm so bad at layering dies because I get glue everywhere! I sponged a little night of navy behind the die and added some honey colored stars (this card will go to the Lone Star State, Texas).
I usually don't ever think of gender when I'm making a card and because I don't do a lot of frilly stuff, it doesn't matter. I think this card would appeal to anyone regardless of gender.

Great card! Everyone is getting so creative with the backgrounds. Love the rubberband technique. Haven't done it in years. Thanks for the reminder. tfs
