Polly is hosting this weeks teaparty for a very special Splitcoastie and scrapbooking guru.....Sharon Madson aka smadson.
Sharon broke BOTH of her wrists, so we are sending paper hugs along with happy snaps and places of interest. I have depicted Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock), this ancient rock transforms from ochre to burnished orange and intense red at sunrise and sunset.
Have you ever wondered what the blunt end of a Copic is good for...this background was done in a few quick minutes using glossy photo paper and the blunt end of blue, red and green Copics. To add depth and shade I used the blunt end of a few grey Copics over the top of the red and green areas.
These cute digi images are by Crissy Armstrong at Whimsy Stamps. Whimsy are generously donating all the proceeds to the Bush Fire appeal for animals. The set can be foundHERE
The Kangaroo and Emu are on Australia's coat of arms (and we eat them LOL). Australia has a population of 25 million people and 55 million kangaroos. Fun fact - kangaroos cannot move backward.
Emu's are sort of like an Ostrich, but smaller. They are cranky birds with a bad attitude, that's probably because they can't fly!
Koalas are utterly adorable, but never set a tent up under a koala, they snore like a drunken sailor!
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to send Sharon a paper hug.

Aww! I love reading your Australia trivia! Fun facts, I didn't know! Your background is stunning! The colors are so rich and vibrant! It's so nice that Whimsey is sending the proceeds to help the animals.

Very cute card...and I love your bits of animal facts. What a terrific way to use the copics for the bg. It has such a dramatic look. Those animals are adorable and you always color your images so well.

Oh wow Susie, what a stunning, stunning card this is. I love learning more about the wonderful animals from "down under" and I love learning about this special ancient rock too. You sure have done justice to the animals and this ancient rock and I know Sharon will appreciate this beautiful card very much. ~Karen.

What a fantastic card and love all the descriptions of your Aussie critters! Thanks so much for sharing! I'll have to check out those digi stamps. I've never used them before, but a great idea for such a wonderful cause! I feel so bad for every creature in Australia affected by the fires. Sharon will enjoy looking at this amazing card!

hi there and SPECTACULAR that you are a DD member, now! I hope my postings will help alert to Whimsy, but sadly I couldn't find any challenges to post them on. so... probably won't get as much view as I had hoped. I thought Sunday would be a good day for many to be watching, but seems like light amount of viewing.
also, can you tell me.... IF I find a challenge to add them to, is that something I can add in the 'Edit a post' process? I have wondered before if I was allowed to add an already posted project to a new challenge if it fits.
PM me. : ) BEST TO YOU and thanks for all the lovely comments on my new postings.
