This card is for the CAS challenge...to use a die cut, and also for the Alpha Challenge...B = Birthday in Bloom.
This is the first challenge I have done for this year and apart from a Teapot Challenge before Xmas, for some time. I have finally reacquainted myself with my craft room..yay.
Was it easier to find stash....yes. Was it easier to create...nope lol. I am obviously out of practice.
I made the ink panel some time ago...I think during the DTGD challenges or for it. I know I plonked on inks and wiped them across the paper so maybe it was for the swiping technique. Let us go with that.
When I saw the challenge I thought I can do this as I have a lot of dies and this one I love. I also knew it would be easy. All I had to do was die cut and add it to the panel. This is where things went slightly wrong.
I started to die cut the panel...oops. Wrong one to cut. Not deterred I remembered a Jennifer Mcguire video where she die cut using Stick It paper and then popped the die cut bits back in. I also remembered it took her a long time and I am not that patient, so I simply stuck the paper on the back of the die cut coloured panel. I was lucky that all was intact....or so I thought until I spotted 4 tiny bits missing. So off on a hunt in my bin I go and after what seemed a long time I found them and plonked them back in..phew that was lucky.
Black cs die cut and added to the now intact panel covering up my error. Happy birthday added and clear embossed, which for some reason did not work and I am blaming it on the time it took me to add the embossing powder and get my heat gun going.....in 38 degree heat here today it had dried before I got to the heat gun lol.
I had also accidentally caught the end of the card near the birthday but bling soon covered that up.
One thing I learnt making this card is that I am out of practice and need to think about all the steps before I begin.
I do like my new room though. It is even tidy after finishing lol. Now onto scrapping which I actually came into my room to do and also look for a stamp to make a card for our DGD...how we get distracted lol
TFL. Happy day
Ps...the wink of stella is still drying and why it looks blotchy lol

I love the brush strokes in the background and with your position of your die cut it just makes it seem as if the wind is blowing really strong. I love it all. TFS!
