Anna's WOOD You Be Mine MIXed media challenge was perfect because I'd been planning to ink up this stamp. I wasn't initially planning to make a Christmas card, I was thinking of putting an owl on it. But it had other ideas.
Embossed the background (finally, at long last, made a label for my embossing folder shoebox with a list of the different sandwiches for the various 3D folders) and sponged with Iced Spruce.
Stamped the tree ring, using several different browns around the bark and repeat stamping. Coloured with an Inktense pencils and cut out.
Stamped the bird, coloured him with watercolour and some pencils.
Then I realised I really needed another medium, so I went for gel print ivy leaves behind my log. Added a Christmas greeting and some glitter snow along the bottom of the card and called it done.

Wow! The red bird on the log really pops out from your woodgrain background. Love your shading on the bird, the inking of the embossed background, and the ivy leaves! (I need to do what you did and make a list of embossing sandwiches and file it with my embossing folders -- great idea!)
