This weeks F4A is Celebrate YOUR month. My birthday is in September and sapphire is my gemstone. I love the depth you can find in a sapphire.
I've been dragging my feet creating a sympathy card for a dear friend. The Birthday challenge was just the impetus I needed to translate my feelings. When I created this Gelli Print Scrap page, literally this was the page I rolled off my brayer. I couldn't trash it. And so these blue hues were absolutely perfect for my starry skies.
First I cut the star band on an edge. I underlaid the stars with another shimmery play page. Then I tore each edge. It was mounted on PTI 'Shadow' and then my card base is PTI 'White'. I stamped the sentiment onto an scrap piece of the same paper. It was embossed with PSX 'Silver Pearl' ep. I cut out the first two lines of the quote and mounted it on the front.
The rest was torn and trimmed and placed inside the card. I also used the strip scrap to frame out the inside. It looks like it should be there...heaven opening...
I just knew the Tim key 'Heart' needed to be there. It made the front quite heavy, so I used staples...surprise.
Sympathy cards are never easy to buy or create. I am heart-broken for my friend, but as the sentiment says....
PERHAPS THEY ARE
not stars in the sky,
BUT RATHER OPENINGS
in Heaven where the
LOVE OF OUR LOST ONES
pours through
AND SHINES DOWN
to let us know they are happy.

Wow, this card is amazing - for the beauty you created and the story behind it. This work of art is also a work of the heart and your friend will surly feel the love that went into this card. Beautifully done!
PS And thanks for also showing the inside. It perfectly completes your creation.
