I was inspired by the bird, the colors, and the mixed media look in this image here (4th row second from left). I also used emboss resist (WT671).
I have been wanting to try my new scribbly birds stamps so this was the perfect opportunity. I stamped and then embossed the bird and the sentiment strips in black, sponged color on the bird, splattered with water, blotted with paper towel, and then fussy cut the bird and sentiment strips. For the bg I started with sponging through a stencil for the rays and then moved the stencil slightly and dabbed versamark through the stencil. I clear embossed this, leaving a thin white highlight where I had slightly moved the stencil. Then I sponged the bg with multiple DI, and built up the bg with more stamping and sponging through portions of stencils. Sponged some black around the edges, attached a torn piece of black across the bottom to anchor the bird and adhered the bird and the sentiment strips.

Mixed media weirdo arty stuff on steroids!!! Maura every itty bitty inch of this is magic! Thank you for all the details, I read a bit, scrolled back, read a bit more and scrolled back and kept nodding in awe of how this brilliant card came to be. Of course this is pinned to my Weirdo Arty Stuff I love Pinterest board AND to my secret Best of 2018 pin board. I hope you can tell how much I love this and how super duper talented you are Miss Maura.
