SCSCCDT, CC652, Anything but a Card, triangle Box, No Cake
I can't believe its the second week of September and being a guest designer for the color challenge. I feel blessed and excited all at the same.
Barbara gave us a fun challenge and great colors and stated it didn't have to be a card. That's right up my ally.
The colors this week are Berry Burst, Pink Pirouette, Lost Lagoon. They are beautiful colors but I didn't have any of them so I got as close as I could. I'm Realizing I'm not a purplish kind of girl, so with that being stated, I used different tones of pink and aqua, hopefully it will be close to the colors.
I was so happy with how this turned out but my DH looked at it as said, "what's that?" "I said , "seriously after all this hard work, you don't see a slice of cake?" He said, "No!, it's not the right angle." I said, " use your imagination." So hopefully you ladies and gentlemen will see a slice of white cake with pink filling.
Description
The box is a long triangle box by sizzix.
Cut in white card stock and I added pink flower soft and white puffy paint in swirls.
I made rolled roses that were cut in pinks and aqua with small dies by Impressions obsession (IO). I just love the small flower dies that IO makes. I then added some white ink, glue and fine glitter with a sponge to tone down the color and add sparkle. You know I'm a shabby Chic kind of gal.
Once dried the flowers were placed on a piece of hand dyed cheesecloth that I pulled apart and made some tiny holes and hanging strands to add some texture. I strung some pearls on bead elastic and left them flowing over the edge and put a stick pin together and placed it in the corner. That's my icing on the cake.
It was then placed on a Cherry Lynn Doily die that I cut in white, to look like a saucer.
The finished box is approximately 2 by 6 inches.
I have wanted a space in my craft room to make a board to display all my die cuts and give them a number for easily locating them. Thanks Barbara for the direction to achieve a long time dream. I now have the first one.
Hopefully, you'll like this as much as I do, see a slice of cake and will take a minute to leave a comment. I love reading what you talented ladies and a few gentlemen have to say...
...until next week.
See ya in the gallery,
Tonda

Really!? Husbands; what are we going to do with them? Of course this is a piece of cake, though anything but to put together I bet! I love that swirly icing and the pink filling. Marvellous decorated top. Wow! Fabulous!

Call me silly, but I think your pink layer looks like cake with its even texture. Fantastic job on the entire piece. You really put a LOT into each of your creations.
