This is for Lisa's WT challenge which you will find HERE; we are marking Hans Christian Andersen's birthday by using images suitable for fairy tales.
It's also for Susie's Tickle a Teapotter challenge - this is my Fantasyland card and gives me a full house...I've never made that many cards for a TPT challenge before!!
Mermaid - sentiment from Art Neko, Unity Mystical Mermaid stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with inktense pencils. Lots of Spectrum Noir glitter for sparkle. Sea is Twinkling H2Os. Background is gelatos and baby wipes with a Pink Cat Studio seaweed stamp.
I tore the edges of the image panel, stitched round a couple of times with no thread in the sewing machine and then added lots of Stickles - it's popped up on foam and finished with sequins. The shells are all cut from bits of a failed wrinkle-free distress panel. Yes, it can fail when cheapo card is too absorbent!!
I was named after a mermaid (of sorts) - Sabrina, the goddess of the River Severn, the longest river in the UK. So it's surprising that in all my years of stamping this is only the second mermaid stamp I have ever bought!
John Milton wrote about her... Sabrina fair,
Listen where thou art sitting
Under the glassy, cool, translucent wave,
In twisted braids of lilies knitting
The loose train of thy amber-dropping hair...

Wonderful sentiment. This mermaid reminds me of my ornament my Grandma brought back for me from Denmark, with her on a little rock...LOVe that one, and this pretty scene..especially the flowers on her tail...TFs..:0)

Oh, Sabrina, how GORGEOUS! I love the dreamy colors you've used and really love the border of your mermaid (aka "Sabrina") panel with the threadless stitching and gorgeous sparkle! Yes, it's amazing to learn a little more about our friends, and how sweet that you were named after a mermaid! I love the poem! Beautifully done, sweet friend, and it will be loved! Hugs, sweet friend! xoxo

Oh my goodness, guess who just floated and swam all the way from Ireland to Australia. Sabrina I loved this card the minute I saw it in the gallery and I love it even more now that Sabrina the Mermaid is sitting on my mantle piece. Thank you so much my sweet friend.
